The collection consists of the oral histories, general homemakers information, scrapbooks, Eleanor Arnold information about the project, and visual materials. It is separated into five series: Oral History Interview Transcripts, Releases and Tapes; General Homemaker Information; Scrapbooks; Eleanor Arnold Correspondence and Project Information; Visuals.

The Indiana Extension Homemakers (IEHA) started in 1913 as Home Economics Clubs to aid rural homemakers with everyday tasks. In the early 1950s the name was changed to Home Demonstration Clubs. Finally in 1966, Extension Homemakers became the accepted name and has continued as such. The individual clubs were suppported by county groups and a statewide organization. In 1980, the IEHA began preparation for its 75th anniversary to be held in 1988. To celebrate this occasion the state club wanted to...
