The Indiana Extension Homemakers (IEHA) started in 1913 as Home Economics Clubs to aid rural homemakers with everyday tasks. In the early 1950s the name was changed to Home Demonstration Clubs. Finally in 1966, Extension Homemakers became the accepted name and has continued as such. The individual clubs were suppported by county groups and a statewide organization.
